FAQ

What We Do! Camp Kodiak offers boys a true taste of the Alaskan wilderness. Breathtaking views of glaciers, mountains, and wildlife, all in an environment untouched by commercial development, provide the perfect backdrop for aproximately a two-week camp session for adventure-hungry boys. Blending unparalleled challenges, including rafting and fishing for enormous king salmon, with spiritual reflection through daily Mass and prayer, Camp Kodiak offers a rare opportunity for significant development of leadership skills and personal discipline. Targeting and attracting boys of high integrity and potential, the camp makes a significant impact on its participants. Rubbing shoulders with world-class leaders, the boys learn powerful tools. And, as Kodiak alumni begin to establish alliances and develop relationships, these tools are reinforced throughout life.

Camp Kodiak's activities are geared to produce human, intellectual, cultural, and spiritual formation in a setting of adventure. Daily Mass, Rosary, and gospel reflection contribute to this formation. Survival, camping and wilderness first aid skills are also taught and additional personal formation is generated through the other activities, which include horseback riding, flightseeing, glacier golfing, rafting, fishing, hiking, gold panning, exploring, and sightseeing.

SPIRITUALITY!
Led by Legionaries of Christ priests and brothers, counselors and other responsible men, religious piety is observed, though it does demand organization and self discipline. Mass is celebrated daily, even on rafting trips and regardless of the weather conditions; tents are used for Mass when the weather does not permit outdoor celebrations. Vestments and Mass kits are provided and allow for a dignified liturgy.

What We Do! ADVENTURE!
Alongside the spiritual and leadership development activities, Camp Kodiak focuses on fun, excitement, and adventure. Whether they're striking gold on a mining expedition, taming the rapids on a rafting trip, or struggling to pull in a giant King Salmon, the boys are sure to have the time of their lives.
